Eldon brings a wealth of aviation and management experience to our cooperative organization. He has been involved in aviation for over 25 years. During these years he has flown most production single and light twin engine aircraft, racking up over 17,000 flight hours. He is currently an airline captain on a CL-65 Regional Jet and holds several type ratings. Eldon has flight instructed over 2000 hours, training other pilots in aerobatics, multi-engine, ATP, commercial, instrument, private, and tail-wheel courses.

Eldon has personally owned over 30 different aircraft from hang-gliders, ultralights, and experimentals to numerous certified aircraft. When asked what aircraft he enjoys flying the most, he would usually answer: the Nanchang CJ-6. However, after recently flying several new State-of-the-Art Aircraft, he has some new favorites.

In addition to his flying experience, Eldon has owned, operated, and managed, several aviation and non-aviation related companies. He owned and operated the largest flight school in Utah before moving onto the airlines. Eldon holds a Masters degree in Business and Aviation Administration as well as AGI, IGI, and BGI teaching certificates. He has taught aviation courses for Accelerated Ground schools, Continuing Education, and Brigham Young University. He has experience in Airline interviewing and performing New Hire Simulator Check rides. He also has extensive experience in aircraft purchase, sales, management, and aircraft appraisal. He performed appraisals for several large banks such as Zion’s Bank, First Security Bank, and Universal Campus Federal Credit Union.

Eldon has been happily married for over 22 years and has four children. He enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, especially if it has an engine associated with it or gets off the ground. Anyone that has been around him soon realizes that he loves his wife, family, and people. He thoroughly enjoys life. He loves to see people learn to fly and experience the thrill and freedom of flight that has been a part of his life for so many years.
